people used to sev's timely monday newsletters are really pissed
I have finished another reread of His Majesty's Dragon. Oh, I love this series so much. I have hearts in my eyes for Temeraire! I am actually pretty excited I never read the most recent release, because now I can reread the whole and enjoy it mightly! <3
This link about Twilight cracked me up.
The other day it was bandied about, the idea of several of us getting together in Google Wave to learn PHP from scratch! Also there could be the bonus of learning some CSS, as well, to make whatever we create in PHP look like it was not vomited up from the stomach of the Internet in 1994 after a bender. So far it's Sev, Rina, Ira, and me, in hopes we could learn how to build a better
ff_exchange signup form with check boxes and add to our (in my case, very limited) skill set!
I've been hearing murmurs about Yuletide using AO3 for uploading and reveals? I am very curious as to how that might work. Does anyone know the details? Regardless, I am tempted by learning new things which means I've entered learning mode. Everyone knows this mode because I did it with feminism, and wouldn't have done so without KJ so everyone owe KJ a hug, or possibly dead fish, depending on if you like me. I went and bugged the OTW Coders and asked how to learn to code, and then I checked my graduation checklist and noted that I could possibly, if the registrar isn't balls, take an intro to programming course for majors and non-majors that has college algebra as a prerequisite, thereby skipping the latter. The checklist allows it! Come on, registrar, cut me a break. /o\
I am also still hip deep in newsletter reboot. Seriously, March 2010, after years of silence and impenetrability!? Square-Enix, do you hate me? Well, I have given us our first Milestone: January 31st for a reboot header policy to farm out to betas for sanity checks, etc. Hopefully I haven't driven off the entire staff by then, but I thought I would at least have until July, since reinvention is best attached to the release of a new game here. I refuse to forgive S-E until it releases Versus XIII, which is the game I really want.
I do not know why I have Supernatural Collective Nouns bookmarked, but I do and it's awesome.
So for my birthday I would like to go to The Melting Pot. I am requesting the time off tomorrow so at least I will be free! Then I would like to come home and have IRON CUPCAKE, in which we buy several different kinds of cupcakes from different bakeries in town and judge them! WHICH CUPCAKE WILL REIGN SUPREME?
I am nerd! \o/

So I vote PS3. But T won't allow an Xbox in the house, so our options were sort of limited. Presumably you aren't operating under that restriction. ;)

I hear it is not quite as pretty on the 360 as it is on the PS3, though. DECISIONS.
(for what it's worth, Lost Odyssey AND The Last Remnant are both eminently awesome reasons to own a 360. You should try to convince T on the basis of those two things. And Mass Effect, if he likes sci-fi. And Dragon Age.)
