If these are the actions and behavior I have to look forward to from fans of Final Fantasy XIII, so help me, I am going to explode in rage on a near-daily basis. I mean, this is Racism 101 stuff. I saw enough of it with Barret with the release of Advent Children (the game itself being another story entirely) to make me want to projectile vomit—I can only imagine how totally rad it is going to be to see it happen during this iteration.




The hover text to this was "Trust me I'm that random black guy!"



I can already see the comment threads, too, defending these things and it only makes me want to bury my face in my hands and waft woe and misery.

Clue in guys: I'm not crying, I'm contemptuous, which means the more childish you are the more I will dig my heels in. I expect more from people who should know better. You're not making a point beyond the fact that you would rather do and defend racist things than learn.

eta: I am still getting really nasty comments on this entry and it's very tiring. So belatedly: I recognize I was a jerk for not going to the icon maker first. It was wrong, I made a mistake. I'm sorry for that; I have learned my lesson for the future. I'm sorry this got included on a newsletter and blew up when it could have been handled better on a smaller scale. However, I would be really happy if we could just move on. :(
