Hi! I think it's probably the tame that gets me, because so often I see expectations that girls be shy and demure and not overt. I get this a lot in my own culture -- in the South girls AREN'T forward in polite company it's just not done, and I see this sometimes in F/F relationships where it's all very conservative and there's not as much passion as F/M or M/M? I also recognize I may not being interacting with the right media.
Thanks for the link, though, I will check that out. I agree that friendship/desire doesn't always have to be two sides of the same coin. I agree that they could coexist happily, but it's just finding that medium in the creation process.
Then again, I am totally fond of the "enemies becomes make out partners" dynamic, but also involved in the resolution for me has to be the recognition that the spark isn't just desire to have sex, but desire to know the other person -- the realization that they click. That's what's for me a lot of the time. :/
