into the light (rikku/wakka, nc-17)

"We can't do this," he said, even as she was pulling yet another buckle loose, making his pants fall away. If he shifted his feet to the left he would trip over his arm guard and fall over. This closet wasn't that big, so he wouldn't fall far, but it would be awkward having to explain to Cid why he was wedged there with his very, very naked daughter.

He hissed as Rikku bit his neck. "Wakka, can't you ever just put a sock in it?" Her voice was amused, deeper than it was normally and his brain was trying to grasp at all the reasons this was bad.

"Rikku, we're in a closet, yeah?" His hands were on her hips. She was so small, so warm, and there were lessons about temptation and being led down a dangerous path that he knew he should be recalling so he could put a stop to this and take it somewhere completely private, but he figured it was a little late and he suddenly really didn't care as Rikku's hands went lower and his eyes maybe crossed a little.

His head slammed back against the wall. "Rikku—" His head was ringing and that had hurt. She had to learn how to warn him.

"I told you to shut up," she whispered, and she all but crawled up his body to cling to his shoulders and hips and kiss him. It wasn't angry anymore, it had never been angry, this thing they had—except for the first time. Just thinking back to that made him tremble and press Rikku closer to him, her skin smooth. He knew it so well already and it terrified him. Familiarity with a sinner, he thought as he kissed her, was never in his plans. The world had gone to pieces around him. His teachings had fallen away. He couldn't pray anymore without knowing it was a waste. Rikku was real, something to hold on to, a piece of his failing. He may have shoved the teachings away, but she had been given to him for a reason and the teachings said nothing was without its reason. He wasn't going to waste his chance to find out what this was.

Rikku jerked back so violently he almost lost his balance against the wall. "Wakka, if you don't stop thinking right this second I'm going to pop you one and then steal your clothes and make you walk back to the cabin naked."

Wakka eyed her. "I'm—"

"Before you say that you weren't, I'd like to know why we're not already hot and sweaty. You'd give a girl a complex!" Her eyes flashed at him, aroused and definitely annoyed now.

He smoothed a hand up her side, flushing even as he did it. It was bright here, the area lit by rough light above their heads they couldn't reach, and he could look at her, bare skin and no shame. He didn't know how to do it, she had forbidden written all over her in the curve of her shoulder and scars from machina all over her skin that spelled out how this couldn't possibly work, but it was working and had been for awhile and yet his old troubles still remained, even though he was happy.

"A closet?" Wakka asked, his voice thick as she shifted on his hips.

Rikku flushed under his gaze. "Everywhere else is occupied." She lowered her head to lick his neck, because she knew it undid him. "I never thought I would see that much of Auron's—"

"Stop," Wakka managed to say, even though his head was fuzzy. "Please don't ruin my day by finishing that sentence, yeah?" He cupped her with his hands, hoping to distract her and closed his eyes. He wanted it to be darker, but knew just as she knew that he wouldn't bring it up. The teachings are gone, she had said the first time, her voice like steel. Then she had covered him in the bright sunlight of the Calm Lands, moving over him smoothly. She had known exactly what she was doing and he had faltered, torn between guilt and desire. His lip had been bleeding and she had had a bruise on her face from his elbow and anyone could have seen them and it had been terrible and perfect all at once.

"Wakka, please," her voice brought him back, and she didn't sound mad anymore, just whiny and he laughed.

"You want us to do this in a closet that anyone could open," Wakka said, even as he flipped them, pressing her back against the warmed metal. "You want us to get caught," he murmured as he kissed her, softly, carefully, peacefully, because that's how he wanted it to be between them, even if Rikku had to have sexual quirks.

"Now," she said, and wiggled, and she had what she wanted, heat and sweat and the smell of iron in the air around them. Wakka knew he would be mortified later that he was naked in a closet on an Al Bhed airship, but for now he only cared that it was so easy to slide into her and have her twist around him. It was easy to sigh and press into her, their eyes open and locked as they moved, and Wakka loved to watch her eyes cloud, lose focus as she tensed and sighed out his name.

Then it was fast and demanding and the only way he knew he could keep up with her, because in every other way she was faster than him, but not here. Here they meshed, moved at the same speed, came together in a thousand different ways Wakka would never be able to explain to anyone. It never felt wrong anymore, as they clung and trembled and took deep, shuddering breaths to recover, and Wakka was glad that feeling was gone, because he had hated feeling guilty, knew that all the times he had Rikku had known and felt worse for it. He nuzzled into the curve of her neck and breathed her in, not wanting to let go yet.

They stayed like that for a few minutes, still pressed together, resting, quiet. She was like a cat, Wakka knew, and if he stayed there warming her, she would fall asleep pressed against the wall and clinging to him.

He raised his head and looked at her, suddenly curious. "You walked in on Auron?"

She grumbled a little. "Maybe I did. I thought you didn't want to know."

He flushed and ignored her smirk. "You made it sound like he was with someone." He couldn't imagine it at all. He was Auron.

"He was," Rikku said cheerfully, refreshed, sliding down and making him shudder as she did it, completely on purpose. Wakka knew her tricks now. "But he hasn't told on us yet, so I won't tell on him."

Wakka felt the blood drain from his face as Rikku pulled on her clothes. He stared down at her. "How does he know about us?"

She had the decency to flush a little. "You remember yesterday?"

Wakka just closed his eyes. For some reason, he couldn't dredge up enough energy to care or even be ashamed. "I remember yesterday, yeah."

Rikku winked at him and handed him his pants. "You shouldn't be so loud! See you later!" Then she was popping out of the closet just as quickly as she had pounced on him in the hallway and shoved him into it.

Wakka just stood with his clothes in his hands and stared at the door that was now ajar, wondering where his afterglow had gone. Then he laughed, and tossed on his clothes. It was time to go bust Lulu for the liar that she was.

Bah!

The crew of FFX is a randy bunch, aren't they?

I like this; it's well written and believable. I can see Wakka "wanting it sweet and gentle."

I like that they move at the same speed only when it comes to sex.

The characterization is masterful and telling; you make it clear that lust is directing, with Wakka's nervous guilt. However, when you close the scene, there's no shame in it and everything is all right.

And of course, I love, love the dash of Aulu!

Very nice.

Oh. Wow. I can't decide if this is a sex scene that happens to be immensely revealing or a character study that happens to have really hot sex, but I like it either way. Very hot. You manage to make this pretty explicit without too much of the "tab a, slot b"-style description, and it works well. I like that you don't stop giving us Wakka's thoughts and flashbacks and doubts until afterwords.

Rikku-the-exibhitionist was surprising, but not unpleasantly so. I like the strength she shows here. Yeah, she's pushy, but it makes the dynamics of their relationship that much more interesting. One little grammar nitpick:

She had to learn how to warn him, she sucked at it.

The second part of that sentence feels tacked on, like either it should be a second sentence or it shouldn't be there at all. I'd go for the second, personally. It isn't necessary, and that particular phrasing can get confusing when the male character has his pants off.

I really loved this, though. Sharp, gentle, and sexy.

I am highly amused by the thought of Rikku talkking Wakka into having sex with her in a closet. I think only Rikku could ber persuasive enough to manage that.

Hee. I love that Wakka calls Rikku "a sinner" and that he seems to love her despite that fact. I like the way that Wakka vascillates. He seems to think that he is in the wrong, unable to pray because he is sinning too, but he also wants Rikku desperately to be sent to him for some holy purpose. He hasn't given up his beliefs. He's clinging desperately to whatever he can of his former faith at the same time as he knowingly does what his religoon would say is wrong. I like the ambiguity in this.

I love how Rikku is annoyed at Wakka for thinking. Hee.

I like the way that Wakka has given up his comfort for Rikku. He wants it darker and more private, but she's convinced him that he doesn't need it his way. She's breaking down everything about him it seems.

Did Rikku catch Auron with someone? I agree with Wakka. Shye wants them to get caught. I like how the straight-laced Wakka sees this as some sort of perversion. Hee.

I love that Rikku would fall asleep standing in a closet. She would so do that.

Nitpicking:
"She had to learn how to warn him, she sucked at it." Replace the comma with a semi-colon.

"He didn’t know how to do it, she had forbidden written all over her in the curve of her shoulder and scars from machina all over her skin that spelled out how this couldn’t possibly work, but it was working and had been for awhile and yet his old troubles still remained, even though he was happy." Replace the first comma with a semi-colon.

I love the way Wakka can't imagine Auron having sex. *laughs*

Then it's great how Rikku subtly lets Wakka know that they *did* get caught the day before. Rikku must expect Wakka to agonize over that for hours afterwards, while Rikku just merrily tells him and walks away, quite unconcerned. I adore how he gets it together though at the end and just laughs over it.
