Friends! I did not read a lot during Final Fantasy Exchange 2009 because, quite honestly, I was burnt out. So burnt, there weren't even crisps of me left; I had turned immediately to ash and floated away. However, I returned later and went through some of it and there's SO MUCH AWESOME, seriously. It will actually take me longer to hit everything!

I have decided to highlight some of the work I've managed to stumble upon! Here we go. :D

Fiction

Dissolution by seventhe: I have recced this before! This isn't the first time or the LAST TIME, because in another few months I will be like, "HEY EVERYONE DID YOU READ THIS AWESOME TWINCEST? NO? WELL HERE IT IS AGAIN." It's good for everything else it contains, too. Family, duty, love —the twincest is just a bonus. (Final Fantasy VI, Edgar/Sabin)

recoil and grace by irish_ais: I love introspective Quistis pieces that highlight everything that the game could have done with her character but didn't, woe is fandom. This is Quistis taking all the faults on her shoulders, pushing forward, but at what cost? Really insightful, with great language. I would love to be able to catch some of the imagery in this fic in my own writing. Awesome. (Final Fantasy VIII, Quistis)

Lines of Communication by owlmoose: Cute, fluffy piece of Vaan/Penelo that didn't get near enough attention! I really like the idea of the pairing, however, I am a bit picky with it? Ooops! This piece hit all the right notes for me. <3 (Final Fantasy XII, Vaan/Penelo)

Culture Shock by heaven_monument: This was my 2009 gift. Baralai and Gippal! This piece really does a good job with Gippal showing his ass to everything Yevon is and stands for. My favorite thing, which I said in my comment, is that this hits my family of choice kink really, really hard, and Baralai, Gippal, Paine and Nooj are just waiting for a writer to go, "Hey, Renay, read this!" so I do and they can sit back and laugh while I flail around. Crimson Squad fic is ripe for this type of thing. :D (Final Fantasy X-2, Baralai, Gippal)

Sunset Hobbies by tlc010: This piece just blew me away the first time I looked at it and every time I look at it now I go, "Really? Our exchange caused that to exist? REALLY? You're joking." I will never be over it. GENDER! LOOK IT'S A FEMALE BLACK MAGE. Hell yeah! (Final Fantasy I, Red Mage, Black Mage, White Mage)

Villain Sleepover by safety_caesars: Honestly, you've really got to see this to experience it for yourself. This is the best crossover idea ever and some of the funniest art I've seen in ages. I could barely breathe after looking at it. For me, Kain and Zeromus really make the picture. Look closely! (Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy VII)

Introductions by justira: Okay, I am not normally a threesomes person. It can work, sure, but I have been struck by so many terrible love triangles that I tend to sneak away from threesomes at the first sign of jealousy, etc. Yeah, so the piece avoids all that and is just hot. Fran is leading! This speaks for itself; it doesn't need me to muddy the water, seriously. *.* (Final Fantasy XII, Fran/Balthier/Vaan)

Seeing You for the First Time by darthneko: Everything that comes from this artist is beautiful. I love the colors. (Final Fantasy VIII, Rinoa/Quisits)

There's so much more! I might be back with more. Now it should be clear why I am TOTALLY STOKED for 2010, and everyone should totally sign up to participate so I can continue to drool over prompts and I swear I will stop badgering soon (mushroom, mushroom). :D
